They are not professional quality as they are not lightfast. They are great for beginning colorists (who use coloring books). The colors match Prismacolors pretty close. However, this set works out to $0.42 USD per pencil. Prismacolors, which are considered the best soft wax lightfast pencil used by professional artists, can be purchased on sale for $0.60 per pencil in the 150 sets. Sometimes cheaper. It is better to save up and buy the Prismacolors if you want your artwork to last (or have plans to sell it). A 150 set will last you several years so the $90 investment is worth it. These pencils are good if you are just starting out in coloring books.

are these ok to use for watercolor?

As accents, maybe. They are not watercolor pencils. They are wonderful though. I’m using them instead of my expensive ones.
