Veradek Block Span Tall Rectangular Planter Box - Outdoor Privacy Planter

I was looking to elevate this small awkward space at my front porch with a touch of modern and the Veradek Planter was perfect choice! Design: While the planter is sleek and minimalistic, the black rectangular modern look provides a beautiful visual contrast with the plants which makes them stand out stunningly. Durability: It's made of a high-grade plastic and has held up great against the extreme heat we've had all summer as well as against the storms. It's also very lightweight making it easy to move. The quality is absolutely worth the cost in this case. I will be sure to update my review as the months go on and we'll see how long it lasts! Features: One of the standout features of this planter is the removable insert bucket. This design makes planting, repotting, and maintenance incredibly easy. You can plant directly in the insert and simply lift it out for seasonal changes or to bring delicate plants indoors during harsh weather. Additionally, the insert helps with drainage, preventing water from pooling at the bottom Already looking at purchasing a few more for my new backyard patio plans for next year so I'll be sure to update on those as well!

The planters are beautiful for creating a little penthouse look on my balcony. I bought the large 30" high by 38" wide and only 8" width; narrow and sleek. Felt a little flimsy at first, but not after I weighted them. I face ACNJ and am in a condo. I wanted to elevate the space and create some privacy from the street also; I'm on the third and fourth floors. They looking stunning from the inside as well. They were light enough to maneuver into place by myself. I weighted the bottom section with bags of peagravel. I left the gravel in the bags. The top inserts were weighted with 6x6x1 pavers placed on their sides and then I added 4 faux cedar trees 3.5 feet high per planter; they pushed into place perfectly. If god forbid a hurricane with super high winds, I can disassemble and bring inside without worrying about dragging in loose stones or soil into my unit. So far they have been through 30 mph winds and heavy rain and were fine. I did not use the plugs and had no problem with drainage or excessive water on the balcony at all. I’m very disappointed with this planter’s durability. After light use, the planter split along the side, which caused the inner tray to slide down and get stuck inside the base. I had to have someone flip the entire planter completely upside down to free it, which created a huge mess—soil and water everywhere and damage to a nearby rug. This all happened after normal indoor use with a single medium houseplant (no overfilling or rough handling). The plastic feels thin and brittle, and the side seam appears to be a structural weak point. I purchased this on June 2024 and used it for about two years before it failed. Assembly was simple and the tray initially fit, but once the side split, the tray jammed and couldn’t be removed without inverting the unit. This is not the level of quality advertised, especially for a “durable” self-watering design. I will not purchase this product again and cannot recommend it.

First let me say our Veradek planter arrived early and was in perfect condition. Was as described and appeared to strongly built-we’ve tested ours and it has proved to be tough. We wanted a long flower box to stand just below the railing of our deck so that planted flowers would extend above the rail but not so high as to block our view. PERFECT height and not so long that it took up to much space. Very pleased. Now for the design. It’s 30” high and only the planter to holds dirt so it’s quite top heavy. There’s no flange at the bottom to stabilize so the first 30 mph wind blew it over. No damage but a mess. I put rocks in the bottom but then a 60-70 mph wind (no exaggeration-severe weather) blew it over again. No damage. I told you it was tough. In truth it blew slats out of the neighbor’s fence. No freestanding planter would have stood. This brings the second design concern. The planter insert must be 15” deep. This means a lot of potting soil and it’s very heavy when wet. I would have thought 10” would have been adequate for our needs and it would be less top heavy. The planter insert fits almost seamlessly into the base and there are no finger grooves or flanges for lifting. When full, I can’t get the insert out without a prying tool and it’s almost impossible to lower back in without pinching fingers on the sharp edges. Veradek should mold some gripping areas into their design. But an easy cure. See picture. Drilled a couple of holes and put rope lifting handles on each side. Dirt and flowers cover the rope so it’s not visible. Just not reasonable to think one will never have to remove the insert to change flowers now and then and it’s really hard to do. Back to the bottom line. I’d recommend this item. Perfect for our needs and has demonstrated its toughness. We really like having the flowers. If it isn’t an indoor installation, will need to be weighted at the bottom. If hurricane strength winds like we experienced are common maybe you don’t need a deck planter. Lifting handles would be nice, but are easy to make

I purchased 3 of the large Veradeck planter boxes to use as privacy planters. In the photo above is a picture of my neighbor’s bedroom window! I am in a condo and her bedroom looks right onto our patio. For both of our privacies, I purchased these and just planted two Dappled Willow bushes. They grow fast, thick and wide. I hope they will also cover all of the utility panels as well. The planters are thick, and appear durable. I placed about 2 bags of sand in the base of the two planters with live plants and left one hole open for drainage. The 3rd planter will have faux plants and I will put sand at the base with all holes plugged. I have already received compliments on the planters and several neighbors are planning to purchase some too. I have a smaller one on my front porch and plan to purchase their side table/cooler as well. Update, the dappled willows didn’t do well in the planters only because of the location. There wasn’t enough sun. I replaced them with tall faux grass. I’ve had them for about a year now and through a winter and they have held up very well! No cracks or fading. I’m very pleased and I highly recommend them!

Great Planters at a good price. Have a solid build quality and a good design. Have purchased several of the Block planters in different shapes and sizes and they look great. Also have their other products and can attest to the quality and appearance. They are solidly constructed yet relatively light. Also they have stood up to the elements. Delivery was fast too for such a bulky item.
