๐ Measure Like a Pro โ Donโt Let Your Metrics Fall Behind!
The 1420 Wire/Cordage Measurer by Olympic Instruments is a rugged, metric-only measuring tool designed for professionals handling wires and cords from 0.4 to 24 mm diameter. Featuring heat-treated stainless steel shafts and quick-change guide tubes, it delivers precise, low-friction measurements in meters and decimeters. While praised for its solid build, users have noted issues with the mechanical counterโs reliability, making it essential to verify counter functionality before critical use.

Mechanical counter is trash, rendering the entire unit worthless
Unit is solid and Made in USA but the entire point is to precisely measure length and they stuck a garbage 10-cent Chinese mechanical counter on it that hangs up and renders the entire unit worthless. Literally does not work straight out of the box. Ordered a replacement counter from the distributor and it's just as much a piece of garbage as the first one, and now we're stuck with an overpriced boat anchor and nothing to measure our material. At this price point skimping on the "brain" of the unit is a boneheaded shortsighted decision. Particularly when there are several finely-crafted American-made all-metal mechanical counters on the market at reasonable price points. Disgraceful management decisions like this are why foreign manufacturers are eating American manufacturers' lunch. Time for Olympic Instruments to adapt, sell out or die out. A shameful display from the self-proclaimed leader in linear measurement equipment and technology. Attachment: junkcounters1and2.mov
