I owned a Brabentia wide ironing board 20 years ago, loved using it (as weird as that sounds), and then “lost” it during a divorce... and I’ve longed for one ever since. These are so much nicer than any other ironing board out there. My new ironing board arrived today, and it’s just as sturdy and as well made as the one I used to have, which is so nice, since many companies seem to be downgrading their build quality these days. My ironing board was MADE IN LATVIA (not made in China, like nearly all the cheaply built ones you find from the discount/big box stores). And it’s incredibly sturdy. It doesn’t wobble or shift as you use it. The rack underneath the board is removable, but I‘ll keep it attached since it’s very handy to use for items waiting to be ironed/folded items that have been ironed, for holding a basket of hangers, for holding tailor’s hams or wool pressing mats, or if you have a steam generator for an iron, as long as the generator weighs less than 5 pounds or so. The rack is quite sturdy, and the iron rest is also sturdy and stable, with an adjustable arm to help secure your iron. The ironing surface is wider and a bit shorter than ones found on standard boards, so it’s easier and faster to iron linens and fabrics for quilting and sewing. But it’s not too wide for ironing clothing, and the small amount of board length lost poses no issues, really. This is a perfect proportion, in my opinion. If you’ve only had a narrow “standard” ironing board before, it might take some getting used to, but after using one of these a couple times, I doubt you’ll ever want to go back to a narrow one! There’s really no reason to want to. I also like that the board adjusts to a taller height than my old one, which is easier on my arthritic neck and back, but it can also be adjusted lower, to be used from a seated position (I’m disabled, so this was important to me to have the option). And it doesn’t squeak at all (some are like nails on a chalkboard!) when you open or close it. This is so much more stable than a more narrow board with the same style legs, and 1,000 times more stable than all of those T-leg boards out there! I plan to keep mine set up most of the time, but will mount a wall holder for those times when I need to put it away. The ironing board comes with a 10-year warranty and registration instructions (so save the printed card and large card stock insert with product info, since your barcode for registration is there). This ironing board functions, looks and feels just like the one I used for many years, and that one never gave me any issues at all.

I love the wider top and the iron rest at the end. It's very sturdy as far as ironing boards go. Observations: •The placement for the height adjustment release is a little hard to reach on the far side, it's tucked under. •The narrow end isn't quite as narrow as a standard ironing board making it difficult to tuck into tight spots and curved seams. •The bottom rack, for me, is virtually useless it's obstructed by most things when they are draped over the board. And it's in the way if I need to be seated while ironing. Knees knock against it. (I'm old, sometimes I need to sit.) I'd like to remove it but not sure if it's part of the structural integrity of the board itself. •A way to hang or set a spray bottle at the end where the iron sits would be very handy. Just a little bar that the sprayer handle could be hooked on would be sufficient. To keep the sprayer off the board itself and prevent it getting bumped off. Overall, a very nice ironing board.

The Brabantia 321924 Ironing Board with Linen Rack (size C) is perfect for my needs. No more stooping over the board - this one goes to new heights! Great if you’re tall. I iron on it, but also use it as a crafting table, setting down a cutting mat for a solid surface to work on. It’s a wide board! Great for crafters and makers. I have the height set one notch below the highest setting and it perfect for me, at 5’7” tall. The cotton cover is nice and I don’t feel the need to ‘upgrade’ it in any way. Not till it shows signs of wear! Finally, this board is Sturdy and SOLID. I don’t have to “babysit” it, worrying about tipping my iron or the actual board if I bang in to it (small space living hazard). Yes, this one is a keeper! PS: It’s heavy, but this is what makes it so stable.

Stability used to be a given in ironing boards but it appears this is no longer the case. I had to return two previous boards. The first ($70) rocked like a cradle. The second ($80) had the stability of a trampoline. (Thank goodness for Amazon's free return shipping.) I was afraid to get my hopes up with the third, the Brabantia Steam Rest ($99), but it did not disappoint. It’s solid, well made and well worth the money. It replaces a 60s-era board I inherited. The old board was as stable as a rock and had no plastic parts, but it was rusting. They don’t make them like they used to, but this Brabantia model comes close. I like the extra width and the iron stand, which I consider a safety feature. The rack is a nice extra, but not that important to me. What’s important is the board’s STABILITY. Plus, it has a 10-year warranty. Anyone shopping for an ironing board should go straight to this one.

I received my Brabantia "C",ecru, just yesterday. I was so excited to get a new ironing board after many years of using my very affordable,old and skinny ironing board! I figured if my hubby can use the right tool for a job, so can I! Wow, guess it doesn't take much..... Anywho, Amazon got my hope's up 3 days in a row telling me (ok, Alexa told me) it would arrive "today" for 3 days straight! When it did arrive, one of the "feet" was sticking out of the box, and the box was not sturdy at all, the tape was loose, and the make-shift box was falling apart! Fortunately, the ironing board inside was unharmed!!! The plastic wrap was shrunk on well, and there wasn't a scratch on the board. I absolutely love this board, its very sturdy, nice and wide and my regular old iron fits well in the holder! The cover is adequate, but I would like to replace it with a better looking one (okay, so I like pretty flowers when I iron!) that is made with a teflon or just a smoother surface. This ecru color cover is basically just a plain muslin, not the quality I expected for an ironing board this expensive!! I hope Brabantia makes a good replacement cover because this cover looks quite unique, probably not easy to replace. Overall, I would recommend this ironing board, and I hope there us someone in my family to whom I can bequeath it. I'm sure this board will be around long after I'm gone. Wish I had found it sooner! One more point, this was NOT made in China! It's from a small country, Latvia, like straight out of a Hallmark movie with a handsome Prince or Princess looking for love from a big country, maybe like America! Seriously, I don't mind buying from another country, especially if it's NOT China!!! Support Latvia today, buy their great ironing boards!

This is a wonderful ironing board--sturdy, good solid cover, nice features like an resting spot for the iron and another for un-ironed clothing. I used my last ironing board for almost 40 years until it rusted through. I waited so long to buy a new one because I hate that the newer versions are smaller, meaning it takes me longer to iron, especially XL men's shirts. So, this Brabantia seemed perfect being having extra wide dimensions. I wanted to love it and do prefer it over the smaller ones; but it is almost too wide. It works great on XL men's shirts, but my women's small shirts get stretched out. It is however terrific for ironing curtains, or bed spreads.

So in today's world it is hard to find good quality stuff at ANY price. This brand and this ironing board are EXCELLENT!! I cannot recommend this enough. It makes ironing faster and safer. It is super stable and easy to move and of great quality...you know like stuff used to be made. I am sure this is German engineered in all the best ways. Should last you a lifetime!

I looked at a lot of ironing boards before deciding on this one. In short, very solid construction and stable. Would definitely recommend the Size - C wide width. Makes ironing shirts and trousers a lot easier and quicker. I was a little bit concerned about the length (my previous ironing board was about 6" longer), but it turned out to be OK. Long enough for trousers. I noticed some reviews on this product were critical of the iron holder attachment at the rear of the board. Because I iron in a small utility room next to a counter, I didn't need it, so I simply cut it off. You can't tell it by looking at the ironing board (see photos). I agree that it would be better if it could be detached, but that wasn't possible -- it's welded to the frame. It too is well constructed, so if you need the iron holder, you will be pleased with the quality. In summary, I think this is a quality product that is worth the price.

Great ironing board. Strong steady board, built to last but my only disappointment is can't change the ironing board cover because the part that holds the iron is pushed up against the iron board making it impossible to remove cover without ripping it.

L'asse è perfetto. Solido, stabile e come lo volevo. Arrivato perfettamente imballato e protetto con foglio in plastica antiurto. Il tutto chiuso in una pellicola in plastica nera sottovuoto. Facile il disimballo, l'asse è facilmente apribile grazie alla leva che si tiene premuta e lo fa regolare all'altezza desiderata. Dotato anche di alloggio per i piedini che lo fa tenere chiuso senza il rischio che si apra durante lo spostamento. Sta tranquillamente in uno spazio di 15 cm da chiuso. Il materiale è ottimo così come la copertura in tessuto, anche se ho preferito acquistarne un'altra da mettere sopra affinché non si rovini. Sono molto soddisfatta dell'acquisto, effettuato ieri mattina e che mi è stato consegnato il giorno dopo grazie alla opzione Prime. Allego immagini del prodotto acquistato. Troppo tardi ho pensato di voler fare foto anche all'oggetto imballato ma avevo già aperto il tutto. Lo consiglio. Vale più di quanto costa. Grazie Brabantia e Amazon!

My wife asked me what I would like for my birthday and I asked her to buy me an ironing board. Given the nature of the occasion, I looked forward with anticipation to receiving a quality product such as this but she cheapskated and bought a poor quality ironing board that collapsed after three months*. I resolved then to save up my pocket money to buy a good quality product and am very pleased with this Brabantia ironing board. It is very strong and sturdy, and the large surface area is very good for larger laundry items. I also bought a Brabantia Size C metalised cover for the ironing board. This is also very well-designed and fits the board perfectly and snugly and enhances the function of the ironing board. I would have no hesitation in recommending both this ironing board as well as the additional cover that is available separately. * Still married, for the time being....
