HENCKELS Statement Razor-Sharp 8-inch Slicing Knife, German Engineered Informed by 100+ Years of Mastery, Black/Stainless Steel

Now this is terrific veggie, meat, bread knife!!! Super sharp, holds SHARP edge on our wood cutting board. Feels FANTASTIC in your hand and construction quality can't be beat at its PRICE!!! It will do exactly what more expensive knifes will do, I.E. cut easily!!! I'd buy this knife again if I needed another one. So, I recommend it!!! UPDATE: 11/29/24 Using it several times every day, still extremely sharp and neat to use. Cut turkey, chopped up dried fruit, some chestnuts, apples, oranges, grainy bread, hard dinner rolls etc. etc. etc. Like, this is a winner multi function knife for sure.

I was a little surprised at the length of this knife when I got it and almost sent it back, but it has become my go to knife for a lot of trimming work. Ends up what I wanted, and still need, is a six inch blade - which I will buy eventually. I have two Henckels small paring knifes, which I use daily and am very pleased with, so decided to stick with the brand and was not disappointed. Like the smaller Henckels I have, these are very well made. Not the same handle design as the paring knifes, but still a nice comfortable handle making this knife a pleasure to use as well. The thing I like most about Henckels knives is how well they hold and edge and how easy they are to re-sharpen. I have an electric Chef's Choice three stage knife sharpener which I bought like 20 years ago, and it puts a real nice edge on a blade. Yes that is partly a testament to the sharpener but also to the steel the blades are made from as well. I have other knifes that do not sharpen as well or hold their edge as long. Anyway, these are well made knifes. Yes a little pricy, but in the long run well worth....especially if you have a good knife sharpener which can make these knives last a lifetime.

Added this knife to my Henckel knife set I already had. Love all their knifes. This one was a little longer than one I originally had and lost. Thought it was about that size. So, I bought one that was longer and one that was shorter apparently. I use it regularly and like said, love these knifes :)

I bought this knife to replace what was once a very expensive slicing knife made of high carbon steel. This new knife is on the order of magnitude sharper and easier to care for than the old knife plus the MUCH larger handle makes using it far easier. At this price point this is an outstanding buy and a perfect addition to my kitchen knives.

It as bigger than I thought it would be but it is such a beautifully designed knife…..I’m keeping it! Buy it!
