Air filter works great and fits easily in my 2007 Volvo S60. **Please note, these 1.5 inch wide air filters are for the back slot on the air filter housing, and should only be used in Volvos with the Indoor Air Quality Sensor.** You can tell if your system has this system by checking the recirculation button. If it has manual and auto settings, it's got the IAQS and this is the filter for you. If you don't have this system, you should install a 1 inch filter in the closer of the two bays in the filter housing. In my 2007 Volvo S60, the airflow goes TOWARD the cabin, so the arrows should point towards the passenger seat. The black foam should be the first side in, and closer to the engine. Make sure you seal the air filter panel securely, failure to do so will cause a whistling sound from escaping air.

Good fit for my XC90 is 1.5 inches thick very similar to mahle the only difference is this one have a black foam on edge and mahle is plastic

This filter fits perfectly into the XC90 (2007) with IQAS, it even has pre-cut slits in the side to help it bend when installing, went in very easily and fit perfect. Make sure to note the side that has dip in it, as this filter is keyed, and follow the filter you remove for this (it is at the top, but I can't remember 100% but I think the dip side is to the left). Construction seems substantial and is the 1.5" thick filter (the non-IQAS is only 1" thick) Make sure you insert this one in the back slot (the one closest to the firewall in the filter compartment), as the front slot is for the 1" thick non-charcoal filter (Mann CU 2855) which I have also used, see that review for more comments. This filter has excellent quality and it built very well. I installed it into my 2004 Volvo XC70. The filter location has two slots for two types of filters. The slot nearest the seat is for the smaller NON charcoal filter, and the slot nearest the engine is for the thicker charcoal filter. Since my model does not require the thicker filter, it had a small plastic tab over the second slot. I cut the tab off with a razor knife and the filter fit perfectly! I will be buying this one every time I change it!

RETURNED – Foam Will Rot AND CAUSE PROBLEMS I am really disappointed with this inferior dangerous product. It IS NOT an exact copy of the design of the original Volvo XC90 Cabin Air Filter and this inferior product has many design flaws. The original Volvo XC90 Cabin Air Filter is Brand Name Mahle 30630754 LH. The original filter is flexible to bend during installation. The original filter has a special slots in the sides of the frame to allow it to bend during installation and then reform to correctly fit the air duct. The original Cabin Air Filter frame is made of plastic with the correct shape to seal the air duct such that all the air flows through the filter. The inferior replacement filter does not have a a correctly shaped plastic frame. Instead of the frame being the correct shape this inferior filter uses a large piece of foam that has to be crushed into shape to seal the air duct. This foam is a big problem. I have been an automobile mechanic since 1967. I have seen this type of foam cause all kinds of problems. This type of foam quickly deteriorates by first becoming sticky and then starts falling apart. The foam on this filter will soon deteriorate and little sticky pieces will get all over the air ducts. Inside the air ducts there are many flap type air flow valves. These air flow flap valves change the air flow as needed from blowing out of the dashboard air ports, blowing out the the bottom of the dashboard aimed at your feet, and blowing out of the top of the dashboard aimed at the windshield for critical need defrosting. There are lots of problems when these air flow flap valves get stuck open or stuck closed or stuck halfway open. Usually the problem is mouse debris. It would be an expensive job to fix the air flow flap valves contaminate by this sticky foam. You MUST not use this inferior air filter. This aftermarket product is a perfect example of why mechanics do not allow customers to bring in their own aftermarket parts.

A perfect fit for my 2006 Volvo S60R. After a few days I noticed the musty smell from the old filter was gone. I watched a youtube video of how to install this thing before I attempted it, and I felt that helpful. There were 2 screws that are out of sight that needed to be removed and I probably would have had a very difficult time finding them if I had not watched the video first. My car has 2 slots for an air filter, a narrow one to fit standard filters, and a thicker one to fit this carbon filter. Apparently my car originally came with and has always had the standard filter, because there was a white plastic tab covering the entrance to the thicker slot. Another reviewer mentioned this, but its good to reiterate. If the plastic tab is there you have to twist it a few times to break it off. I took the floor cover out to give myself a little extra room and I had to flex the filter slightly to get it to slide in. The filter has splits in the side to help it flex for this reason.

The video describing this product shows the filter has perforated edges to allow for easy installation. The one I received did not have the perforations, which created real issues for me. I had to really jam this in and it began weakening, so the furthest outside edges began collapsing. I continued jamming it in, but I know there isn't a tight seal.

Fit nicely in my 2001 Volvo v70xc in the rear slot, (1.5 inch) slid right in. Will not fit the front slot that's 1 inch.
