Ancient Roman fasces/Italian Fascist SPQR Standard/Caesar Of Rome Pin/Brooch

The pin was high quality. I made a mistake when ordering and the seller was very helpful.

This piece has nice detail and is solidly built. I used it as a necklace by grinding off the back posts.

Very well made casting. Sharp details and solid pins on back (2). I think this had rubber dammints, but I replace all of mine with locking backers anyway. Even color on the pewter? material. Nice pin. Arrived early.

You cannot do better representing Ancient Rome than to be sporting a ‘fasces’ pin, as either a lapel pin or a hat pin. It has 2 posts on the back of it, so, once in place, it will not be spinning around on you. The fasces was a bundle of rods with an ax head in it, used by the lictors, bodyguards of the consuls. The ax head was permitted only outside the city of Rome, because it meant that the lictors had the power to execute anyone trying to bother the consul. Inside the city the ax head was removed, meaning the lictors only had the authority to inflict corporal punishment on wrongdoers, opposed to the authority of capital punishment elsewhere.

great pin, sturdy construction, would be nice if the pin caps on the back were made to a similar quality but as they are not visible i wont call it a negative, they hold firm and thats there job. great product

Very nice good quality. Only issue is very minor the finish is rubbed down on one of the "X" marks, very hard to notice though most likely caused from shipping very happy with product.

Fine example of workmanship. Bought a second one for a friend. Had all these articles blessed by my local Church. Prompt delivery and arrived safely. Will wear it proudly. Am into Roman History and this article is a fine example of Roman culture.
