This collection features Austen’s six great masterpieces, along with Lady Susan , an epistolary novel. Each volume features charming four-color illustrations and gorgeous design elements throughout, making it an essential addition to every Austen fan’s library. Review: Wonderful, Literate Jane Austen - I love her writing. It's a joy to read someone with a huge vocabulary who knows how to use it. The English language can be so beautiful when a truly learned individual takes command. Her sly and witty observations creep up on the reader and he sits back and knows he's just read something very astute and so well said. I reread her works and never tire of them. The only thing I would suggest to a reader is keep a pad and pencil to jot down the characters with a brief description. Miss Austen peoples her stories with an enormous number of them. Sometimes I find myself asking, "Who WAS that?" It's no wonder she is beloved by people around the world. Review: Austen is fabulous! - So witty and fun! My only complaint is that her novels end too soon. This is my second reading of her entire collection and I loved them this time as much as before.

Very good low-cost Kindle edition of Austen's novels
This Montlake Romance edition of Jane Austen's novels for the Kindle is very well put together and seems much more professional than any other complete Austen e-book I have seen. The book's design is very pleasant, the typography is good (things like inverted-comma quotation marks, long dashes, and italics are correct -- the book doesn't look like something that came out of a typewriter), and unlike many Kindle publishers, it seems that Montlake actually bothers to proofread their texts. I'm still reading the first novel in the book ("Emma"), but I'm most of the way through it and I have noticed only one typo. As for Austen's novels themselves, do I really need to review them? They're great. If you've read them before, read them again. If you've only seen movie or TV adaptations, read them for real!

Oh biting wit
I love Austen's books for their unexpected commentary on social issues. She can be quite sarcastic in a way that sometimes goes undetected if one is not paying attention. Her main characters are not always all they think themselves cracked up to be, whether they are male or female. Some film adaptations only capture part of this spirit of her writing; usually such commentary is designated to "zinger" character lines. Read the books to get the whole picture, and then revisit some of the film adaptations!

Pleasing reading
I enjoyed reading this collection. The description of events and characters provided such clarity of the time period, locations and actions of the characters. Although, I had a general expectation of how the story would end I could not foresee many of the events leading to the end.

After all these years!
When I was 16 and and Jane Austin was required reading, I didn't care so much about it. Now, in my 80's, I find her writing style lots of fun to read, and though I know the stories very well, I continue to read and enjoy! It is truly facinating to realize how one's priorities and interests change, as one ages. It is good that some things stay the same, as in Jane Austin's work.

Excellent compilation
Equally as good as the movie; Emma Thompson did a nice job with the screenplay. I enjoy having the book electronically so I can look up definitions of words quickly and easily. I didn't want to put the book down (Kindle). Easy to adjust line spacing and font size depending on need.

Jane Austen's always a great read on a winter night...or anytime!
To have gotten all of Jane Austen's iconic novels in one download for only $2.99 was a great treat, and a nice Christmas present from Amazon! So handy to have all these classics together to read at my leisure. Thanks, Amazon, for making this great product available to Kindle owners!

Jane is always Jane
De todas as obras já li Orgulho e Preconceito e Persuasão. Adorei ambas, embora Orgulho e Preconceito seja a minha preferida. Vale para treinar o inglês e se assim como eu você gostar pode adquirir os livros físicos.

One of the best considered British authors
I'm already reading some of the novels thrice. It's not only the plot that Austen manages with excellent sensitivity; the peripeteia and anagnorisis are introduced with mastery, which induces -if not all, most readers' katharsis. There are no words enough to praise Austen's works. Other considerations not literary are comparatively meaningless.
