NCVT2P

This electrical tester works great and does exactly what I needed. It checks everything accurately and is very easy to use. I also really liked that the battery was included, so it was ready to use right away. Great quality and very useful. I definitely recommend it!

Works great. Only electrocuted myself on things it told me had power still.

works well

Great product and a very good price

I originally purchased this thinking the 12 Volt would work on cars, but nope. It's AC only. But for an AC tester, it is great and I use it all the time.

This Klein Tools NCVT2P Dual Range Non-Contact Voltage Tester is one of those simple tools you do not realize you need until you start doing electrical work around the house. Whether checking outlets, light switches, ceiling fixtures, extension cords, or breaker lines, it gives quick peace of mind before touching any wire. What makes this model better than cheaper testers is the dual voltage range. It can detect both low voltage and standard household AC voltage from 12 to 1000V, which makes it useful for more than just outlets. Great for thermostats, doorbells, irrigation wiring, and regular home circuits as well. Klein lists both visual red light alerts and audible beeps, plus CAT IV 1000V protection, auto shutoff, and dust/water resistance, so it feels like a professional-grade tester rather than a disposable gadget. It is very lightweight and pen-sized, so it clips easily in a pocket or tool bag. The bright indicator lights are easy to see, and the beep is loud enough to hear even in a noisy work area. Response time is fast — just place the tip near a wire or outlet and it immediately lets you know if power is present. Another thing I like is that it feels solid in hand. The battery cap seals tightly, the body is durable, and Klein built it with drop protection for jobsite use. Many electricians online mention these testers are excellent for quick safety checks, but still remind users that non-contact pens should be used as a first-line indicator and not the only verification before major electrical work, which is good advice. Pros: -Dual range detects low and standard AC voltage -Loud audible alarm and bright visual indicator -Compact and easy to carry -Durable Klein build quality -Auto power off saves battery -Great for homeowners, DIY, and pros Only downside is that, like all non-contact testers, it can occasionally give a false positive around bundled wires, so it is best used as a quick safety check rather than a replacement for a full multimeter. Overall, this is an inexpensive but extremely valuable electrical safety tool that belongs in every toolbox.

This thing is essential for RVers to check power at the pedestal before hooking up. You can check polarity, ground, hot and neutral in seconds before ever plugging in your rig. Most importantly, this is the only way you can detect a reverse polarity-bootleg ground condition which, while rare, can cause a hot skin condition. I use it to check the pedestal before I even park the rig.

Very helpful to do the job.

Lo he probado dos veces y va como la seda

it works.

Works very well. I want to give it 4* because it is costly however it works so well and is very handy that I still have to give it 5*.

Excellent

Klein Tools are an American Brand akin to Fluke in the UK - A good start. Amazon sold and despatched - Best and most reliable way of buying from Amazon - Another plus point IMO. Not the cheapest as so many Chinese copies out there at half the price but, again IMHO this is WELL WORTH the extra. It arrived next day via Prime (in basic Amazon packaging but very sturdy moulded plastic covering from the manufacturer). It works really well, good level of sensitivity differentiating easily where cables are close together. Worked straight out of the 'box' having inserted the AAA batteries and hasn't missed a beat so far. It has an auto switch off to conserve the batteries which is so useful. My previous Maplin tester had a small torch built into the end which was actually useless and, as I don't work in the dark, hardly something I miss. So far definately so good. It also seems pretty robust and Klein even claim it should survive a a drop of a couple of metres. All in all, a nice usefull piece of kit at a fair price. Edit: Don't know what Amazon have done to the picture resolution, the instruction sheet which gave detailed info of it's capabilities had a resolution of 4677 x 3307 when I posted it - ah well !
