Old School Coffee Maker - Makes the Best Coffee!
I purchased the Eurolux Percolator based on several thousand satisfied customer reviews. After several decades of the standard plastic drip-based coffee makers that eventually need to be replaced and to be honest, the coffee from these makers is at best okay. The coffee temperature is not really all that hot as well. I am also wanting to get away from all of the plastic leaching from these drip machines and not being able to periodically sanitize parts beyond the canter and filter rack. I ordered the Eurolux several weeks ago and have been drinking some of the best coffee I have had in a very long time! My average stove top percolator brew takes about 30 minutes. The few additional minutes of brew time is well worth the wait for exceptional tasting coffee! No more bitter taste! The coffee is so smooth! During the percolator brew, the house is filled with the smell of freshly brewed coffee! I ordered the Eurolux 12 Cup Percolator. My brew consists of 62 ounces (8-cups) of filtered water, 10-11 tablespoons of course ground coffee. I have a gas stove and will brew on a medium or just a smidge below medium heat. Once the water begins boiling through the glass percolator top and I can see a coffee color, I will continue the rolling boil for an additional 7 minutes and then shut off. I allow the freshly brewed coffee to rest a few minutes than pour. Once in a mug, the coffee temperature is around 170 degrees Fahrenheit. Another moment of cooling and I'm then enjoying some exceptional tasting coffee! The quality of the Eurolux is exceptional. The stainless steel is beautiful with a mirror like finish. Absolutely NO leakage from the spout. A very clean, smooth pour. Eurolux provided white disk coffee filters to prevent grounds from getting in your brew. I've opted to continue using these same filters and just ordered another 200. The 64 ounces of coffee allows both my wife and I to enjoy several cups of fresh coffee with no waste. If there happens to be any coffee left, I remove the pots filtration basket and simply warm up the coffee to drink later in the day. No waste. I hope my review helps you with your Eurolux Percolator Coffee Maker Pot decision!

First impression at opening...............
I like the percolator, inspecting all the parts, the weight, and any imperfections. Specifically like the heft and size, packed well and with instructions. After a wash and towel dry, tomorrow morning's coffee will be a treat. Electric percolators only wash the coffee once and you throw away so much flavor and strength. I will be updating this review very soon. But so far, very nice! My second observation: The instruction booklet was extremely vague and poorly written, as if by someone without a serious command of the English language and sentence structure. Next, no specifics on the amount of water to coffee ratio. For people who have never made coffee in a stove percolator, this would be extremely important. None was given. I am not a novice. Thus far, I remain reasonably optimistic that this percolator will deliver, given the price. Does anyone know where this was made? More to follow. This morning, August 11, 2022, finally made that all-important first coffee. I am enjoying my first cup as I write this final review. My father had a stove percolator when I was a boy, but he boiled his coffee too strong. Knowing when to stop is just as important as how much water to coffee. And I don't drink my coffee from those small store-bought mugs, mine hold a good 18oz. which allows for further steeping, and no, they are not glass but ceramic from Pfaltzgraff. I am watching the steam radiate from the mug, which further indicates a great temperature for driking. Final analysis: rich, bold, aromatic flavor. I like Yuban coffee, Traditional Roast, which gives a balanced flavor, not too bitter as strong dark roast, and not too light as other coffees. And I had a Keurig, which was the same as an electric percolator which runs water through ONCE! Not the same as BOILING! Notice I said HAD. And the Keurig cups are way too expensive for something, "washed with hot water" once and thrown away. A WASTE! In conclusion, I know this was a lot to read, but this IS my review as I even end my first wonderful mug of delicious coffee. For the price, not expensive, do not buy cheap, I think this is a winner. Great coffee to the very bottom of the mug! This is how you make and drink your coffee. Enjoy, I did! Updated review, September 1, 2022 First, drop the filters. Not necessary! This percolator delivers a great mug, I said mug, not cup. A mug is 16 to 18oz. of steaming hot perfectly brewed coffee, first time every time. This is percolator is the real deal. Stainless steel for lasting beauty, heat retention, and a great MUG of coffee. Not all of my reviews have been acceptable because I call products for their worth, but this is a real winner! Open campfire or the stove, this is what you want for coffee in the morning, or any time!

Simple. Affordable. Stainless Steel, baby.
I am writing this review over a month and a half of daily use. I use mine for daily coffee. While I still have a "Ninja" inside the house, which replaced a unit that wasn't brewing as hot... Now the Ninja isn't as hot as it was... I've found that this product has it's benefits, that I will continue to use as my primary brew method. The reason I am going to keep using this is because of the flavor, and the temperature of the coffee. The percolator needs a boil to brew, and could take a little longer than the traditional pour over machines, but I find it's worth the wait, if you can juggle the brew. I have a gas stove located right by my workspace, so this is right there, as I work. The percolator and components are easy to clean, and quite frankly, when you're boiling, you're killing the germs etc, so I clean it when the coffee oil residue is noticeable, which about once a week I'll do a dishwasher run. Other than that, like I said, the percolator is easy to clean, and previous brew rinses out easy. Hand can fit in the kettle easily to scrub if needed. This is a simple, no frills percolator, great for camping, survival, or gas stove use. A percolator for coffee and teas and such, or you can just boil or heat water. I'm glad I made the purchase, as this is something that will last, and could be used countless times. Pros: -Affordable -Durable and well made -Gets your brews nice and HOT -Built in screen ( I still use a standard coffee filter as the holes can let fine grinds through) This built in filter would work better for course ground coffee. Cons: -Wood handle COULD get hot if flame is right under it... I tend to pull the kettle back some to keep the flame mostly on the spout end... Then I can hold the handle and carefully pour the kettle as is without a heat pad to hold it... If you roast that handle side, you will need that heat pad! I've done this once. -Time to brew is not as fast but the trade off is hotter coffee -It is not self cleaning -Coffee not included ☕ Disclaimer: I am not an affiliate with the sellers or Amazon or anything of that matter. Just a consumer, giving an honest review.

Fantastic flavor BUT
I bought this to use due to my automatic drip coffee maker broke and the super automatic I ordered won’t be here for months due to being on backorder. I needed a simple, economical solution and found this model which looked easy to use and can make a full pot for a crowd if needed. The knob broke after first use, it fit very loosely on top, so be careful when handling the top if you buy it. I was fortunate to be able to buy a replacement knob which came quickly on Amazon and fits better than the original, highly recommend. Workability- it took about 22 minutes to get completely brewed on the gas cooktop for about 32 ounces, on medium low. If they could change three things in the future, they should include a more sturdier glass knob, instructions on ratios and pot measurements with a top fill line. I am lucky to have a water dispenser that can count out the ounces but if you don’t have that you will have to eye ball it or use a measuring cup. I feel this is still a good piece of equipment we can easily use in a power outage, camping or for everyday use. It definitely delivers better flavor than a standard automatic drip and being completely stainless steel, it is better to use health wise than aluminum products out there on the market. I am pretty satisfied and glad to have it in my kitchen.

Best we've owned
Learning to use a stovetop percolator takes some trial and error, but it's not rocket science, and well worth the effort to get it right. Coffee in this big Eurolux is the best we've ever had, and the pot itself has a lot to do with that. It has distinct inside markings that are easy to read when you're filling it with water. All parts are stainless steel, except for the knob on top, which is glass. When you raise the lid, it stays open till you're ready to close it again. It has a wooden handle for insulation, although I handle it with a potholder just in case. I would like the handle to be a little thicker, but that's just a quibble; every other feature of this pot is ideal. You can wash the pot by hand or in the dishwasher. (If you put it in the dishwasher, be sure and take the glass knob off first.) The pot feels sturdy enough to last for generations. Tips for making great stovetop coffee: —Coarse-grind your beans, have them coarse-ground at a roasters like we do, or buy them coarse-ground online. —Experiment with the coffee/water mix till you get a combination that suits your taste. How to perk: After you've filled the pot with water, and the basket with coffee, close the lid and set the pot on the stove. Adjust the burner setting to medium. For our stove, with the amount of water we use, perking starts in 18 1/2 minutes. Your time may vary. After the coffee starts to perk, and the water hits the top of the glass knob a couple of times, turn the heat down. On our gas stove, that means turning it down two notches below medium. Again, your setting may vary. In a minute or so, the pot will start to perk again. For best results, the water should hit the top of the knob every two to three seconds, with pauses, or less forceful perking, in between. Since we make an almost-full pot each time, this lower-heat stage takes 9 minutes. When the timer pings, we turn off the stove and allow 5 minutes or more for all the water to drain out of the basket. Then we remove the basket—with a potholder because it's still hot—and pour our cups. It takes some experimenting to get the routine just right, but the result is worth it. And you don't have to get it perfect right from the get-go. Less-than-ideal perking will still produce a good cup of coffee, which will only get better as you refine your technique. One final word: the only fragile part of any stovetop percolator is the glass knob on top. If you screw it in too tight, it's likely to break when it's heated. To prevent this, screw it in just till it fully stops. Don't try to scrunch it in tighter. The Eurolux comes with an extra knob, but if you don't over-tighten the original, you'll never need the spare. (Just be sure to put the spare where you can find it if you ever do need it.) Using the Eurolux, you'll make a great cup of coffee like the one I'm enjoying now as I write this review. Happy perking.

best coffee pot
Coffee tastes so much better made in a percolator. The Eurolux is very well made, easy to use. There is some trial and error: coffee to water ratio; how long to perculate it. But once you figure it out, you can make the perfect cup of coffee every time. I have been using it every day for two months now and I am never going back to an automatic drip.

Nice Perculator
Have had it about a month, works great. There had been some complaints of this not being a true 12 cup. To test this, I filled the 12 cup carafe from our Black & Decker coffee maker and poured it into the Eurolux perculator. Dead on the 12 cup mark. Makes plenty and we use 11oz or larger mugs. So either dubious reviews or they got the wrong size. Others complained about coffee grounds. It's a perculator, you may have a few at times. However, if one is using the ground coffee for their coffee maker in the perculator, the vast majority of ground coffee is fine ground. The pad filters work ok. So either find exceedingly rare coarse ground coffee, grind your own or do what we do, modify a 12 cup coffee maker filter. Cut a small slit in the bottom of the filter and slide it into the perculator filter. Wet down the filter with water and then put in the coffee grounds. Works great for us and extremely little to no coffee grounds. They say it's dishwasher safe, we wash it by hand due to the wood on the handle. Not difficult and since we only us the perculator on the weekends, not a big deal. Had no weird residue or any of the other issues some claim to have.

It'll do for now
This is a nice little pot for percolating coffee, however, it will not be my ultimate go to percolator. The description states, "Durable Stainless Steel Material," - I'm thinking heavy duty aluminum. Handle gets hot, although it has wood attached to the inside and outside. The hinge on the lid is extremely flimsy. I can see this breaking or bending within a year. The glass knob broke within the first 45 days. I was washing the coffee pot and the bottom half of the knob simply fell off into my hand. Contacted Amazon for a warranty replacement. Amazon was actually quite helpful in this transaction, however, they were unable to replace the glass top due to their return/replace policies. Amazon attempted to contact the vendor, to have the vendor honor their warranty. The vendor never responded to Amazon. I called that nifty toll free number the vendor has listed, several times actually. Every time, "No one is available at extension XXXX, please leave a message," OK - several phones calls and several messages later, no return phone calls, no return messages via Amazon, etc.... In the end I purchased a universal knob that fits through the whole in the top and has it's own bolt (so to speak) that screws onto the glass knob on the underside of the top. I didn't actually weigh it on a scale, but I think the new glass knob is actually much heavier than the entire coffee pot. This is not a product I would recommend, and the vendor themselves are hopeless. I've added them to my never buy anything from them again, list!

Not recommend.
For that price I expected better quality pot. You cannot see how much water is inside the pot. The wood handel is not solid and it may catch fire on the gas stove.

Great Percolator
Arrived today in time for morning cuppa. Very fast delivery. Great quality item, nice size, holds lots. Great cup of coffee (brewed on gas hob in no time at all). Looks like it's going to be a permanent replacement for my electric filter coffee maker. Easy to clean. No de-scaling, a must for every coffee lover.

Expensive Billy
Takes ages to percolate (20-30 minutes at times) and it doesn’t make strong coffee. In fact it doesn’t work at all unless you put in a certain minimum amount of water, but the guide doesn’t say that and there’s no marker on pot. Would work for someone who liked weak coffee and needed to serve a lot of people. Materials are great.
